SMOOCH ME, Baby - All About "Kissing"
SMOOCH ME, BABY!
What could be more fitting for romance than to talk about osculating? For those who aren’t sure what the word means, let me give it to you in layman’s terms:
~ Osculate ~
Encarta Dictionary: to kiss somebody
Your dictionary.com: to touch closely
RhymeZone: to touch with the lips or press your lips against someone's mouth or other body part.
I don’t know about you, but I like RhymeZone’s definition.
Some little known facts about kissing:
* A kiss triggers a cascade of neural messages and chemicals that transmit tactile sensations, sexual excitement, feelings of closeness, and even euphoria.
* Kissing may have evolved from a primate mother’s practice of chewing food for her young before feeding them mouth-to-mouth.
* Some scientists theorize that kissing is crucial to the evolutionary process of mate selection.
* Lips may have evolved first for food and later applied themselves to speech. (Hmm, who would’ve thought?)
* Scientists believe kissing can become addictive
* Five cranial nerves that affect cerebral function are at work when you kiss, shuttling messages from our lips, tongue, cheeks and nose
* Kissing unleashes a cocktail of chemicals that govern human stress, motivation, social bonding and sexual stimulation.
* Kissing boosts pulse and blood pressure; pupils dilate, breathing deepens and rational thought retreats.
Did you ever think kissing could be powerful enough to do all that? More recent studies show that 59% of men and 66% of women admit there were times when they were attracted to someone until they kissed them. “Bad” kisses did not factor into the equation, but rather those participating in the study indicated they just didn’t “feel right” about the kiss. In fact, the relationships ended abruptly after the lip-lock. Boy, talk about the kiss of death.
Kissing, it turns out, unleashes chemicals that ease stress hormones in both sexes and encourages bonding between people. Both men and women had a decline in cortisol (a chemical associated with stress) after 15 minutes of kissing.
Men tend to think of kissing as a prelude to copulation (you could have knocked me over with a feather) and also prefer “sloppy” kisses. In other words, they get off on exchanging saliva to transmit testosterone, thereby increasing the sex drive in both partners. Sneaky little devils.
Overall, the science of kissing *philematology* is still vastly under researched, but scientists are making great strides in this regard. And all along we thought we were just making contact with our mouths.
Happy kissing!

Ten Things I'm Thankful This Holiday Season
Ten Things I Am Thankful For This Holiday Season
Clean slates
Around the holidays we start to think about saying goodbye to the old year and hello to the new. The New Year ushers in clean slates—an opportunity for us to change, add positive elements to our lives or remove negative energy that surrounds us daily. What if we lived in a country where change of any kind was forbidden? What if you could never wipe the slate clean? I’m thankful for clean slates.
Little things
Unspeakable tragedy lurks all around us; a teen beaten to death in New York, a horrific hate crime in Pennsylvania, the shooting of a priest in a small town. Big things. And then I realize how truly fragile life is. I have a place to live, cars that run, heat, and electricity—little things we take for granted. I’m thankful for little things.
Groaning Tables
My cupboards are full and so is my refrigerator. During the holidays my table groans with platters of food, laughter of children and smiles from elderly members of our family. Did you know that one out of eight children in the US go to bed hungry? I’m thankful for groaning tables.
Sweet Visits
I love that my children still like to hang out with me, truly want my company. Tell your children you love them every time you share a sweet visit, hug them, let them know how blessed you are they were sent to journey through life with you. I am thankful for sweet visits.
Meows and Barks
Cats have saved owners from burning buildings, dogs have rescued drowning children. Your pet in most cases will always choose you over anyone else in the world. Your furry friend gives you unconditional love, friendship, and loyalty. Give it back and you’ll never be sorry. I am thankful for meows and barks.
The joy of writing
I’m horrible at math, not very good at biology or science either. But someone gave me a gift I’m sure I’m not worthy of. If you open a dictionary and choose a word, 90 percent of the time I can tell you the meaning. One thing I can always count on is the ability to string words together. I’m gonna ride this one out for as long and as far as it will take me. I am thankful for the joy of writing.
Random acts of kindness
There is power in random act of kindness -- a selfless act performed by a person wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual. There will generally be no reason other than to make people smile, or make them happy. An example of a random act of kindness is stopping to help someone who’s out of fuel. You can’t leave your name and you refuse to accept money in exchange for your assistance. You stopped to help because help was needed. We shouldn’t help people based on merit, but on need. I am thankful for random acts of kindness.
Freedom
Almost 5,000 US soldiers have died in the Iraq war and 1,000 in Afghanistan. We must all realize that giving one’s life is the ultimate sacrifice. These heroic men and women have lost everything. This Holiday Season, thank them/pray for them for surrendering all they ever were or could ever hope to be to ensure our freedom. I am thankful for freedom.
Friends and family
I saved the best for last. I’ve made wonderful friends over the years and have been blessed with the most awesome family. At Christmas and every day of the year I’ll remember to be thankful for friends and family. Remember, family and friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there for you. I am thankful for friends and family.
Blessed Holidays to you and yours,

New Cover Art and EXCERPT from Dark Night of the Moon
Cover Art by Fantasia Frog Designs
Holding On To Heaven was Lauren and Creed's story. Dark Night of the Moon is Sage's story (Lauren's twin).
Warning: This story contains sexy heroes, a shape-shifting wolf and a woman with the heart of a warrior.
EXCERPT from the book:
Late in the afternoon, Sage emerged from the tipi. She didn't have to search for Looks Twice. He lurked outside the lodge like a Roman soldier guarding a sacred tomb. She pointed to the woods -- a sign she needed to relieve her bladder.
A bow and a quiver of arrows hung from his left shoulder and tucked into the waistband of his breachclout, the shiny handle of his long knife glistened beneath the hot sun.
With Looks Twice dogging the heels of her moccasins, Sage selected a clearing surrounded by tall pines and dense underbrush. Respecting her privacy, the brave turned his back, but kept his sharp eyes peeled on the outskirts of the clearing.
The branches on a nearby scrub rustled. No doubt a critter searching for his next meal. The eerie feeling someone was watching her claimed her again, a sensation she couldn't ignore. She turned her head toward the noise and uttered a quiet gasp when her eyes met the yellow eyes of the wolf. "Walking Spirit," she whispered, her heart pounding.
Time hung suspended on the boundary of sanity and absurd. Reason told her men didn't turn into wolves, and yet she knew in her heart her man had.
Looks Twice spun around, his keen sense alerted to danger. He pulled an arrow from his quiver as Sage scrambled to her feet and adjusted her clothing. His eyes narrowed; he notched and arrow drew back on the sinew.
"No!" she screamed and lunged toward the shrub. A white-hot pain shot through her chest. She looked down and watched the blood soak her doeskin dress. My blood? Sage fell to her knees and then crumbled to the ground, the canopy of pine branches spinning overhead. "Run, Walking Spirit, run," she gasped between pain-filled breaths.
Looks Twice loomed over her, his face masked in terror. He drew her into his arms and sprinted back to camp, stumbling over his own feet as he entered Mad Bear's lodge. Laying her on her berth of soft branches he knelt beside her and stared at the arrow embedded in her torso.
Pain choked her when she turned to look at him. "You must pull the arrow
out."
Tremors claimed his lean body when the howl of the wolf split the still air. He rose and paced the tipi, his eyes locked on the opening.
"You must pull it out! If you don't, I'll die, and so will you when Mad Bear returns."
He came to an abrupt halt, his face white with fear. "I can not do this thing."
"You can and you will." She didn't believe for a minute he cared about her welfare, but she had to convince him if he didn't remove the arrow Mad Bear would kill him when he returned. That was her only chance.
He knelt beside her again, sweat from his forehead trickling into his dark eyebrows. He jumped when the haunting lament from the wolf echoed around them.
"Soon I will lose consciousness from the loss of blood. You must hurry --break it off close to the skin."
His voice trembled. "Then what must I do?"
"Dig the arrow out with your knife."
"No, no. Do not ask this of Looks Twice."
Struggling for breath, she rose to an elbow and stared into his dark eyes. "You listen to me. I'll be dead by nightfall if you don't. My medicine pouch, there." She pointed to a shelf over her berth. Find the bone needle and pull a strong hair from your horse's tail to sew up the wound when you're done."
The brave rose, pulled the pouch from the shelf and handed it to her.She dumped the contents on the floor and held a twisted stem before him. "Cat's claw. Once the arrow is removed, place the leaves over the wound and
cover it with a wet rag."
He shook his head.
"No more talk." She softened her voice. "If you plan to grow old, you must remove it. Now, find a leather thong I can put between my teeth, and be quick."

Thanks so much for reading this short excerpt. I hope you'll keep an eye out for DARK NIGHT OF THE MOON on January 1st when the book is released.
Have a great week, everyone!

Getting to Know Your Chakras
In basic terms, chakras are energy centers in the body. We have seven.
- Muladhara (the root chakra)
- Swadhisthana (the sacral chakra)
- Manipura (the solar plexus chakra)
- Anahata (the heart chakra)
- Vishuddha (the throat chakra)
- Ajna (the third eye chakra)
- Sahasrara (the crown chakra)
When your chakras are open or clean, they radiate light. For instance, your sacral (or sexual chakra) radiates a purple light when seen from the highest level. (Purple meaning vivid pink or red-violet, bright red-violet) .When your chakras is clean, the person thinks only positive thoughts; no impure thoughts or feelings can penetrate. By impure feelings and thoughts we mean egoistical and malicious.
Watch and practice this two minute meditation to open and relax the sacral and creativity chakra (compliments of the Karma channel)
Hope you learned something new about your sacral chakra. Now, teach it to your partner!

WELCOME Grace Elliot, Author of Eulogy's Secret
WELCOME GRACE ELLIOT - Author of Eulogy's Secret, a Regency Romance
BUY EULOGY'S SECRET
Amazon Kindle US
About the Author – GRACE ELLIOT
Grace Elliot leads a double life as a veterinarian by day and author of historical romance by night. Grace lives near London and is addicted to cats, acting as housekeeping staff to five mischievous moggies.
Grace believes intelligent people need romantic fiction in their lives as an antidote to the modern world and as an avid reader of historicals she turned to writing as a release from the emotionally draining side of veterinary work. Her second novel ‘Eulogy’s Secret’ is a story of greed, blackmail and a stolen identity.
* * *
About Eulogy’s Secret:
In the four weeks since her guardian’s death, Eulogy Foster has lost everything. She travels to London seeking the help of Lord Lucien Devlin, the estranged brother who doesn’t know she exists. But Lord Devlin turns her out onto the streets, where Eulogy is robbed and thrown onto the mercy of a passing stranger.
Jack Huntley - bitter, cynical and betrayed in love -believes women are devious, scheming creatures and not to be trusted. So when one night he saves a naive young woman from rape, little does he suspect how much life is about to change. Despite his growing attraction to Miss Foster, Jack has a problem: Eulogy Foster has a secret involving his bitterest enemy, Lord Devlin.
As Eulogy learns the haunting story of her mother’s past, she knows she will only marry for true love. Deeply drawn to Jack Huntley, she needs him to confess his love before she shares the secret of her birth. Caught in a deadlock, with neither able to confess their true feelings, events take a sinister turn as it becomes clear someone wants Eulogy Foster dead.
Excerpt:
With a humph, Eulogy soaked a rag in the hot water and, studiously ignoring her leaping pulse, touched his hot skin to wipe away the dried blood.
“You are lucky.” Eulogy avoided looking into the hypnotic depths of his dark eyes. “The cut has missed vital vessels by an inch. The bleeding has stopped with pressure and the wound should stitch well.”
Such supple skin made for caressing and kissing. Eulogy licked her lips, anticipating the taste of clean sweat, male warmth and musk, as heat ignited in her belly. Desire struck with such unexpectedly force that her hand slipped.
“Have a care!”
“Sorry.”
Stormy eyes met hers. Angry and yet amused. Trapped by their unfathomable depths, her heart raced afresh. What was the matter with her? Doctor Foster said she was impulsive, but she hadn’t believed him until now. It took all her strength not to lean in and kiss Mr. Huntley in a most un-ladylike way. It was as if an invisible hand was forcing her toward those sensuous lips.
“You seem distracted, Miss Foster?”
She felt, rather than heard, his deep, rumbling voice.
“Well if this wasn’t like treating a tame bear, then I wouldn’t feel intimidated and my hand wouldn’t slip.”
Blood thundered in her ears as she met his stare, and then, the corners of his taut mouth twitched into a grin and Eulogy couldn’t stop herself from smiling in return.
“Touché, mademoiselle. Few would be brave enough to call me a bear. But the comparison is not unwarranted.” He grew serious. “Besides, you have had a fright this evening and here’s me acting the child.”
His concern was disarming, sending a fresh wave of heat surging through her blood. Eulogy composed herself; this wasn’t like her to act the dolt.
“That’s quite all right. I’m sure I don’t know how to thank you.”
“Really?” His voice sounded oddly hoarse.
Eulogy froze, as his good arm slid around her waist, his touch burning her skin through her gown as he pulled her close. “I think you do.”
To avoid the wide wavy lips closing in on hers, she started gabbling.
“AsIwassayinganinchclosertoyourneckand…”
“Hush, it’s just a kiss. Call it a thank you. My reward for services rendered.”
Quietly, he placed a finger against her lips. Really, he was hypnotically handsome and one little kiss as a thank you for saving her life, was it so very wrong? Something throbbed deep inside her, rising to an ache as he caressed her jaw. Then his lips grazed her neck, soft as heated velvet. He drew back, waiting for her protest, and yet she did not.
And when his mouth found hers, she parted her lips in welcome.
“One kiss,” he crooned. “I won’t tell. Just one.”
“Just one,” she heard herself repeating his words. It was as if she had become two people: one askance at her brazenness, the other craving this stranger’s touch. She felt his breathing jerk beneath her fingers. He nibbled her lower lip, his tongue sliding into her mouth, feeling peculiar and yet exciting. A moan broke the silence, and blushing, she realized the sound issued from her throat.
“Miss Foster, I do believe you like being kissed.”

5 Stars!
‘Where The Rain Is Made’ by Keta Diablo is an exquisitely written tale borne of historic events dipped in the mystical beliefs of the Cheyenne Indian. It will tear at your heart and anger your soul. Her characters are passionate and devotional, as is the way of the Cheyenne. The spiritual beliefs of the Native Indian culture are centuries old. Amazon Reader LOVES Land of Falling Stars
✩✩✩✩✩ An engrossing read. P. Elliott "Book Junkie" This review is from: Land of Falling Stars (UK Kindle Edition)"Land of Falling Stars" is the story of a love triangle set against the background of the American Civil War.
Sophia is fixated on her fiancé, Jesse, and waits for his return, but doesn't know he is dead. When childhood friend, Gavin, arrives back from the war, Sophia is attracted to Gavin but confused by her love for Jesse. As events spiral out of her control she finds herself tricked and learns to hate the one man that truly loves her. Sophia has to lose everything, including her sight, before she can start to see the truth.
"Land of Falling Stars" is a true page turner and a delight to read. Ms Diablo's strength lies in her characters who are believable and complex. I loved the tension between Sophia and Gavin, and the bitter-sweet love between them was very poignant. It's difficult not to enthuse about this book without giving the plot away, because there are so many memorable moments but each is key to the story. Needless to say I loved this book and look forward to discovering other books by the same author.

WELCOME! Natalie Acres & her Cowboy Series!
A woman’s life is hectic. Between family and career, it’s often difficult to juggle day-to-day activities much less squeeze in something extra. As a writer, I often find myself in a crunch for time. The muse pulls one way and readers guide in another direction altogether. Lately, I’ve discovered my muse shouldn’t have a dog in the race. When readers ask for a certain book, the excitement and energy they have for a particular series is a great source of inspiration when I finally sit down to write a new book.
Cowboy Boots and Unsettled Debts is a prime example. Readers supported this series from the very beginning and because of their requests for more from the Underground Unit, I couldn’t wait to deliver another Cowboy Boots novel.
The series began with Cowboy Boots and Untamed Hearts which kicked off the Cowboy Boots saga in April of 2009. The book captured the #1 spot at Siren-Bookstrand and went on to become the #1 bestselling erotica and western title at Amazon. A bestselling title at All Romance Ebooks and Mobipocket, Cowboy Boots and Untamed Hearts was soon followed by Cowboy Boots and Unfinished Business which was also received well by readers who supported the series.
I’m thrilled and excited about the new Cowboy Boots release, but must admit Cowboy Boots and Unfinished Business remains my favorite due to the unusual bond formed between sisters as one woman courageously faces her death while asking another woman to take care of the men she’ll soon leave behind.
Readers write and ask about continuing the series and I can promise there’s more in store. While writing Cowboy Boots and Unsettled Debts, book three, the idea for the fourth installment materialized as well. Cowboy Boots and Undesirable Characters will soon be submitted for consideration.
In the meantime, more books are in the pipeline for the Cowboy Sex series as well. Sex Party was my first western ménage romance. If you enjoy family sagas, come on over to the ranch and meet the Cartwell family. While you’re there, stop by and say hello to the McKay brothers, too. You might want to call ahead. It’s hard to say where you’ll find these fellows if you stop by unannounced! One thing is certain— you’ll spot a strong-willed, feisty woman keeping an eye on her men.
As we take a tour around the internet, I’d like to invite you to check out the entire collection of Natalie Acres books, but particularly Cowboy Sex and Cowboy Boots. The Cowboy Sex novels tend to write themselves. The stories unfold quicker than they can be put down on paper. The Cowboy Boots novels were a little more difficult to write. Driven by the hot romance and fast action, the characters found in Cowboy Boots tend to ‘get carried away’ with their toys and props. These heroines understand their men are hardcore males with certain expectations in the bedroom.
Speaking of expectations, I hope the week ahead produces some emails because I’m at a crossroads again. With several series to complete and numerous manuscripts stored on my desktop, there’s the ever-present daily question—Where to begin? In fact, if you’re stopping by to follow the tour today, please leave a comment and your advice! You could win a free download of a backlist title!
You know as readers we ask the “Where to start” question a lot, too. It’s not always simple to find the order in which series books were written. Today, as we celebrate the release day of Cowboy Boots and Unsettled Debts, I invite you to check out the entire series.
Start with Cowboy Boots and Untamed Hearts and meet the Donovan brothers from Southwest Virginia. Then, say hello to the Remington men and the women they love in Cowboy Boots and Unfinished Business. As they cope with tremendous loss, they find strength and hope in the arms of a woman they never expected to love. Finally, I invite you to pick up your copy of Cowboy Boots and Unsettled Debts, on sale today at Siren-Bookstrand. Below, you’ll find an excerpt and blurb from Cowboy Boots and Unsettled Debts.
Keta, thank you for sharing your blog today.
Natalie Acres
Book Blurb:
Seduction turns deadly when Abby Rose, an agent with the Underground Unit, decides to put a provocative spin on revenge. Her plan to sleep with a cartel leader backfires when fellow operatives refuse Abby the opportunity to face her enemy alone.
Abby’s fellow agents begin the fight of their lives. After discovering Abby will use her body to lure the man who killed her father and their command leader, seven highly trained operatives cope with high tensions.
This team isn’t fighting for another cause or plotting the best way to take out their mark. The stakes are much higher. These men will take up arms and meet their greatest challenge as they work together to protect the woman they admire and love.
Rated R for content and language
Ace snarled. “I will spank her when this is over.”
“Sure you will,” Casey said. “About like Porter plans to put a dildo in her pussy and paddle her twat.”
“I never said that,” Porter said, keeping a keen eye on Abby.
“Talk about that kiss and I’ll deck you,” Ace said.
“Damn, those lips were sweet,” Porter teased.
Ace faced him. “I wasn’t kidding.”
Porter took a deep breath. Sometimes Ace’s attitude was a real obstacle. He was a smart-ass SOB when he wanted to be. Standing about six foot four, Ace was nothing more than layers of muscle. The only soft spot the man possessed was the one Porter held in high regard, too—Abby Rose.
“I say we take him out right here,” Casey said, always ready to jump the gun.
Casey looked like a kid, and very often Porter reminded himself Casey wasn’t a child, hard to do since the guy looked like a surfer boy of about eighteen. Only a year separated them. Porter was twenty-nine. Casey followed only a year behind.
Still, Casey was a trained killer just like the lot of them. Under normal daily circumstances, he was such a klutz and a clown, but when he aimed his gun and pulled the trigger, no one had a more accurate shot.
Fowler folded his hands atop the table. “I’m ready for this to be over.”
“What’s wrong, Fowler,” Ace taunted him. “Afraid Juraz is gonna tap that?”
“He won’t be a-tappin’ that. I’ll promise ya.”
Porter and Ace exchanged a knowing stare. Porter shook his head in warning. It wasn’t worth the argument. They all recognized the possible scenarios. The best they could hope for was the most favorable. If Abby went to bed with Juraz, they wanted her to kill him before she was forced to fuck him.
Unfortunately, they needed information from Juraz before she pulled the trigger. And he probably wouldn’t open his mouth unless she first opened those long, shapely legs.

Where The Rain Is Made - *NEW* Review
Where The Rain Is Made takes you from the present time into a mining town during the summer of 1864. It’s here the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers come to revenge the ravaging of their lands and their People. Led by Meko- time wanderer Ethan Gray- he vows to uphold his sworn promise to protect the Cheyenne people. It’s also here Meko catches a skinny white boy fleeing the town. Upon the boy’s capture, the reaction Meko’s body has to touching the white boy confuses him, until he realizes his captive is not a boy, but a dark haired beauty.
Francesca has hidden her sex to protect herself from a town of mining men. But there is no hiding from the Cheyenne Dog Soldier who now owns her. She doesn’t want to belong to the savage- only seeking to flee the savage’s village with her brother, Marsh. But Francesca’s body can’t deny what it feels at the slightest touch from the dark warrior.
Keta Diablo has taken the history of the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers and intertwined a time wandering love story. The historical facts about the Cheyenne, the Dog Soldiers, and a time of Soldier versus Indians made this story truly come to life. From rituals to spiritual beliefs to the symbolism of the beading adorning the Cheyenne clothing, you were captivated. I only wish my history books had been this interesting.
But don’t be daunted by the historical aspect, because it is only one facet of this book. The past is wrapped by time wandering, glimmer of paranormal and a steaming romance that can’t be contained by time, or eras.
It’s like the warm fur of a buffalo keeping you cozy while you live through the past, present, and future. By the time you finish Where The Rain Is Made you will be dreaming of a Dog Soldier of your own.
(Can I get a sequel?!)
MEKO
